Dani Baber: Catering Sales Manager for Aloft South Bend

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  I am excited for the growth of YPN. I am also excited for the new and unique events that will bring new faces to our YPN community. 
What you love about the South Bend Region?  I love that South Bend is the most friendly city. No matter where you go you will always find a smiling face. 
Fun fact? I make my own candles and fruit jams. 
Favorite restaurant in the area? Jesus Latin Grille

 

Kelley Davies: Commercial & Industrial Accounts Manager for Northern Indiana Public Service Company

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  I am excited to network and collaborate with young professionals in the South Bend area.  Working together and promoting this region will have positive impacts on our I am communities.
What you love about the South Bend Region? I love the small community feel with the big-city vibe and culture.  We have activities for all interests in South Bend.
Fun fact? I am an avid outdoors woman. I love to hike, kayak, and explore the outdoors!
What is your secret obsession?  I travel and follow the band Phish.  I would say its an obsession when I take most of my vacation to see them play.  I am taking vacation next month to see Phish play on a beach in the Mexican Riviera Maya!

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  Our region's YPN is comprised of innovative and remarkable young leaders who prove to be up-and-comers in their industry. We are the future!
What you love about the South Bend Region? Our area has experienced massive growth in recent years. This is a testament to the relevancy and vibrancy of South Bend, its leaders and all who live here.
Fun Fact? I am quite handy and enjoy home improvement projects.
Favorite restaurant in the area? I’m going to be a little biased here, but Elia’s Mediterranean Cuisine is the best!

 

Kevin Fautz: Financial Center Manager for MutualBank

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  I am excited to introduce people to the connections that I have made over the past year by attending YPN events. Everyone I have met is willing to help you grow your professional network.
What you love about the South Bend Region? Whether you are looking for a fun night out with friends, a romantic evening, or fun day activities with your children; South Bend offers something for everyone.
Fun Fact? My wife and I met while we were both working at Martin’s Super Market.  Now we work at competing financial institutions and help to better each other on a daily basis.
What makes you the happiest? Spending time with my wife and playing Legos with our two boys (number three arriving in April 2019)

 

Kristina Fuehring-Callahan: Founder and CEO of Perfect Fit Stylist

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  I'm excited for a new year with new opportunities and new people and what YPN can do for the region! 
What you love about the South Bend Region? It is the perfect big little city where it is growing and innovating yet one can play an essential role in the region's success. 
Fun Fact? I grew up on a farm in northern Michigan, started riding horses at the age of 2, played 6 sports in high school and 2 in college.
What is your secret obsession? Shoes. I have over 200 pairs

 

Liz Harter: Social Media Program Manager for the University of Notre Dame

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019? YPN is such a great organization that connects YPs to each other and to our region. I’m excited to share that with others in 2019 and beyond. 
What you love about the South Bend Region? The South Bend Region is big enough that you can always meeting new people or discover new places and businesses if you’re looking for them, but small enough that you can still get involved and truly make a difference. It’s inspiring to be a part of the city’s resurgence from “one of America’s dying cities” to the bustling downtown it is today and knowing the excitement, growth and opportunity is spreading to our region as well. 
Fun Fact? I run the largest *NSYNC fansite on the Internet (aside from their official social media accounts). 
Favorite restaurant in the area? Caracas Bistro - I dream of the cachapa when I haven’t been there in a while. 

 

Amanda McCord: Branch Manager for Centier Bank

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  I am most excited about getting to continue developing connections and friendships with other local young professionals, along with finding new places around the area that I otherwise would not have known about. 
What you love about the South Bend Region? I love the diversity and hidden gems that can be found in the South Bend Region. There is always something new and fun going on.
Fun Fact? I lived in North Carolina for four years before moving back home to Indiana. 
Favorite thing to do outside of work? My favorite thing to do outside of work is find new places around town with my friends or work on projects around the house.

 

Morgan Myers: Business Development Manager for The Source Company

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  When I moved back to town after six years, I found YPN was a really great organization for me to connect with other YPs. I'm most excited about YPN's opportunity for community involvement and general networking in the coming year. 
What you love about the South Bend Region? I love the variety of things to do in town.  On any given weekend I can be looking forward to biking the riverfront trail from Mishawaka to St. Pats Park, checking out a SB Cubs game, stopping by local wineries and breweries, or taking a yoga class during the Summer Fitness Series.
Fun Fact? One time I threw out the first pitch at a Cincinnati Reds game to the Mr. Peanut mascot when I worked for Kraft Foods.
Favorite restaurant in the area? Rocco’s.  My family has been going there for years and we love the atmosphere and the food!

 

Kim Pedler: Business Development Representative for Notre Dame Federal Credit Union

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  I’m excited to see how the YPN Network grows with the newly implemented organizational structure. I think that the potential is exponential, especially if we place an emphasis on mentoring new YPN members!
What you love about the South Bend Region? I love the culture and the genuine care so many people have for each other and the community, it sets South Bend apart from the other cities in the region.
Fun Fact? Our family loves camping, hiking, kayaking and all things outdoors. We have a travel trailer that we can be found in for 75% of all summer weekends.
What is your secret obsession? I am obsessed with meal prepping, grocery shopping and couponing. It takes up almost a full day for me every week.

 

Annie Sauer: Tech Training and Change Management Professional for the University of Notre Dame Office of Information Technology

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  I look forward to meeting new arrivals to the area and connecting with other young professionals.
What you love about the South Bend Region? The variety of activities going on around town. There's something here for everyone. 
Fun Fact? I am an avid writer of cyperpunk short stories and novels.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? Read, write, or hang with friends at The Exchange or Hammer & Quill.

 

Michael Scott: Director of Business Development for First Response Disaster Restoration Specialists

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  I am excited to assist in the building and developing of our region alongside other future leaders of our community.  There are so many exceptional individuals in YPN and I believe as a group we have the opportunity to positively impact our community.
What you love about the South Bend Region? I love that our region is continuing to grow and attract more young talent.  South Bend is home to many locally owned businesses that are unique to our area and I am excited to see this trend continue.
Fun Fact?  Before moving to South Bend, I was a college basketball coach at NCAA DII Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY and helped lead our team to a National Championship in 2011 and Final Four appearances in 2012 and 2015.
What makes you the happiest? I love spending time with my wife and young twin boys.  Whether it is going to a local park, taking a walk in our community or braving the risk of going out to eat, there is no better feeling than being able to watch my kids grow and discover new adventures.

 

Brooke Speer: Human Resource Manager for Embassy Suites by Hilton South Bend at Notre Dame

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019? I’m excited to meet even more great people and to experience all YPN has to offer with them.  YPN is such an asset to the South Bend community, offering young people in the area a variety of professional opportunities & resources, fun socials & adventures (ropes courses, white water rafting, etc.), and chances to volunteer and give back to the place we call home.  
What you love about the South Bend Region? I grew up in rural Montana, so to me, the South Bend region is the perfect size— it’s big enough to offer lots of things to do and places to explore, but it also has a strong sense of community that you might not find in a bigger city.     
Fun Fact? I lived in Australia for four months while studying abroad in college.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? I love going to trivia (shout out to K&A Trivia!) with my husband, friends, coworkers, and anyone else who will join us.  I’m not necessarily good at trivia, but it’s always a good time and we always learn something interesting!

Why you are excited about YPN in 2019?  YPN is an incredible platform to get plugged into the community, meet new people, experience new places, and grow as a professional. I have been plugged in to YPN for numerous years, and have gained new friendships, grown professionally, and love witnessing the new level of engagement YPN has had over these past few years.
What you love about the South Bend Region? What I love most, is easily the people. There are so many phenomenal and talented people that make South Bend what it is – a vibrant community.
Fun Fact? I was home-schooled all through high school.
Favorite restaurant in the area? Papa Vinos. So many fun memories here, including proposing to my high school sweetheart.
