Involved with YPN since 2006

Why did I get involved:
I recognized the value it could add to my personal and professional life. A native of Wisconsin, YPN offered a great way for me to get plugged in with other YPs in the area.

Best part about YPN:
YPN is an open, welcoming group that never makes you feel like an outsider. I've made great friends and professional contacts through YPN and love helping other people do the same!

Immediate Past Chair, Amanda Gadacz

Financial Advisor
Edward Jones

Involved with YPN since 2009

Why did I get involved:
I saw YPN as a unique opportunity to connect with other YPs, stay involved with the community in which I live, and stay informed about the economics that impact our demographic.

Best part about YPN:
Meeting successful business owners who speak at our Power Lunches and mingling with other like-minded ambitious YPs by attending a networking event. All of these avenues allowed me to build rapport with people who can help enhance what I do, grow and succeed, and even be a path for making new friends.

Why did I get involved:
Why did I get involved: YPN is a great way to get to know like-minded young professionals who you might not normally meet in your day-to-day work. It provides the opportunity to make professional contacts and to build personal friendships while helping to create a vibrant community for young professionals.

 Best part about YPN:
Meeting the next generation of leaders for the South Bend region.

Liz harter

Social Media Manager
University of Notre Dame

Involved with YPN since 2016

Why did I get involved:
I went to college in South Bend, but moving back after four years and knowing very few people, I saw YPN as a way to both get to know people but also a way to get to know the city as an adult instead of as a student.

Best part about YPN:
Exploring new (and new to you) places in the city and creating a personal and professional network. I've met some of my best friends and also some of the first people I call when I need professional advice at YPN events.

Brandon Nettrouer

Associate Risk Advisor
Gibson

Involved with YPN since 2016

Why did I get involved:
I grew up in a small town where friends and familiar faces were always close by. I went to college at Indiana State, which was seven times the size of my hometown, but after getting involved, it became a place that I would routinely meet new people and always see familiar faces. Life is more fun with friends nearby and getting involved with YPN has been a way for me to create new friendships in a new city that’s eight times the size of my college campus.

Best part about YPN:
Developing connections and friendships with regular attendees at YPN events. Every event you’re able to see someone again is another opportunity to pick up right where you left off at the last event. “Networking” can be a bit tough at first but being able to “connect” with someone you routinely meet is impactful, both personally and professionally.

Briana Stiner

Manager, Programming and Communications
South Bend Regional Chamber

Involved with YPN since 2018. Serves as liaison between the Chamber and YPN.

Why did I get involved:
As the Chamber Liaison, it came with the territory... but it quickly became so much more that just a job.. it is now a passion.

Best part about YPN:
There are young professionals who are eager to connect and learn. The passion I've seen from the young professionals I've met is infectious and I have learned so much from the YPs I've met so far! As a transplant to South Bend, this organization has helped me learn where the best places are to shop and eat, who the movers and shakers in town are, and what the pulse of the community is. It can be an amazing opportunity if you let it.

Christine Walsh

Marketing Director
TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre

Involved with YPN since 2016

Why did I get involved:
The compelling content and speakers drew me into the YPN Power Lunches and events when the group was established 10 years ago. The Power Lunches are always fast pasted, timely, educational and applicable. As a young professional, it's imperative that we spend our time learning and growing, and YPN never lacks delivery.

Best part about YPN:
I have made so many personal and professional connections over the years. Plus it's awesome to be part of something that is still evolving and growing! YPN is filled with some of the best and brightest minds in our region working together to continue of collectively growing ourselves and St. Joseph County.
